ABOUT DR. Logan
Patients of all ages are welcome. Dr. Logan and his staff offer special consideration for the comfort and dental care needs of children and seniors.
I grew up in Livonia and spent my summers at my Grandparents cottage on Vineyard Lake. I always liked this area, as I enjoyed fishing, skiing, swimming, golf, and hunting. As a child I did quite well in school and around the age of 14 my dad and I were talking and he commented that, with my good grades I should think about a career in the medical field. I thought about his advice and began to explore the medical or dental field.
Being quite good with my hands and looking at the fact that dentists worked great hours and could pretty much pick where they chose to practice,
I chose dentistry as my career path. I also thought that as a dentist I could come to Brooklyn to practice, settle down, and raise a family.
From that point forward, my goal was to become a dentist and come to Brooklyn to practice.
The road to dental school was longer than it
should have been for me as my undergraduate years in college were trying. I was commuting to and from Eastern Michigan University and working
two or three jobs at the same time. As a result my grades suffered. I ended up with a 2.9 GPA when I attained my Bachelor of Science degree,
not quite what was needed to be accepted to dental school. I then continued my education at Eastern attaining my Masters of Science degree
while raising my GPA. I then applied and was accepted to the University of Detroit School of Dentistry beginning in the fall of 1981. My senior
year of dental school,
I began the search for a location to open my practice. That search lead to the Victorian Village which was just
under construction. The completion date of August was originally planned and would coincide with the time I would receive my license to
practice. When August came it was obvious that I wouldn't be opening anytime in the near future. So I began working in a clinic in the Detroit
area waiting for my office to be completed. Finally in May 1986 I opened my practice, while continuing to practice part time in Detroit. After
about a year I was able to quit working in Detroit and came here full time. In 1992 I left the Victorian Village for my current location on
Wamplers Lake Road.
